Done once, done right

Badly added sockets and DIY lighting are a common cause of faults. We make sure new points sit on suitable circuits, are correctly protected and are certified, so they stay safe and reliable.

Good lighting changes how a room feels. We are happy to advise on layout, colour temperature and controls to get it right.

Adding sockets without the mess

The worry with new sockets is usually the damage, not the electrics. We plan cable routes before we start, lift carpet and floorboards carefully, and use existing voids wherever we can, so making good afterwards is minimal. Where a wall does need chasing, we cut cleanly and keep the dust contained.

Every new point is wired on a suitable circuit with proper RCD protection, not simply spurred off the nearest socket. That matters: overloaded spurs and DIY additions are among the most common faults we find during inspections. Each job finishes with testing and a certificate, so the work is safe and documented.

LED and outdoor lighting

LED downlights use a fraction of the energy of old halogens and run far cooler, and modern fire-rated fittings maintain the fire barrier of the ceiling they sit in. Colour temperature matters as much as layout: a warm white suits living rooms and bedrooms, while a cooler white works well over kitchen worktops and in home offices.

Outdoors, fittings must carry the right IP rating for their location, and garden power should run on its own properly protected circuit. We install security lights with PIR sensors, patio and pergola lighting, and weatherproof sockets for mowers, garden offices and hot tubs, all wired to BS 7671 and tested before handover.

Most lighting and socket jobs are booked in and finished within days. From our base in Stevenage we cover the whole of Hertfordshire along with Luton and London, and no job is too small anywhere on that patch. Established in 2011, NAPIT approved and fully insured, we also run a 24/7 emergency electrician service when a fault cannot wait.

Can you add extra sockets to an existing room?

Yes. We add sockets, USB points and cooker points to existing rooms, on suitable circuits and fully tested.

Do you install LED downlights and smart lighting?

Yes. We fit LED downlights, feature and pendant lighting, dimmers and smart controls you can run from your phone.

Do new sockets and lights need a certificate?

Yes. Smaller alterations receive a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate confirming the work was tested. New circuits and work in bathrooms are notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations, and as NAPIT-approved electricians we self-certify and handle the notification for you.

Are small jobs worth booking?

Absolutely. Small jobs are welcome, from a single socket or light fitting upwards.

Can you fit outdoor sockets and garden lighting?

Yes. We fit weatherproof outdoor sockets, security lights and garden and patio lighting, using fittings with the right IP rating and RCD protection. Power for sheds, garden offices and hot tubs is run on properly protected circuits.
